How is Genital Herpes testing administered?

The test recommended by the Centers for Disease Control to check for Genital Herpes is the Type 2 lg2 HerpeSelect test. It is a blood test that checks for antibodies of HSV-2 (Genital Herpes).

How soon will I get results?

Test results should be available in 2-3 business days, but some have received their results in as little as 24 hours. You may choose to receive your genital herpes test results over phone or through email.

Preparing for the Genital Herpes test.

No preparation is necessary. Just prepare to have your blood drawn.

What samples are needed?

A blood sample required by the HerpesSelect test will be drawn by a phlebotomist from one of our 4000 official local STD testing centers.
